Cruze Hatch configurator is finally up and running.

“My” LT RS manual rang in at $24,885. Options include:

-Convenience Package $850 (8-way driver’s seat, keyless entry and start, heated front seats)

-17" accessory wheels $2,095

-Wheel locks $60

-Steel sill plates $125

-All weather mats $140

-Steel pedal covers $185

Even with all the accessory stuff I decided I “needed” to have I think it’s a decent price. The LT comes standard with more than enough stuff to where I’d be happy. My only complaint is that I wish I could get a sunroof with the manual.

I’d skip the accessory wheels and pick up something for far less. Honestly I think the last gen Cruze LTZ wheels would fit quite well.

You know, I always spec cars with sunroofs when I can, but I realize that the Maxima has a sunroof that I literally never use.

Anyway, the new Cruze hatch looks great, and I hope it does well.

Hmm, 153HP sounds pretty good to me! How is that cargo space, though? Impreza small, Mazda3 small, or Fiesta small?

The only reason I can justify the price is because as far as I can tell you still get the stock 16 inchers as well so I’d have something to mount winter tires on. Plus I love the design of them.

My sunroof on my M3 was always either open or vented unless it was raining, and even then sometimes it was venting. Its one of the main things I miss because I used it so darn often.

What is it with the backseats up though? Dunno about the average hatch buyer but that was a big checkpoint when we bought my wife’s car.

that does make it a bit more justifiable. Plus you can probably get a few hundred bucks back by selling the stock tires.

It took a second to find, but it’s 22.7 cubic feet. Which is identical to the sedan according to the spec sheet on chevy’s website, which doesn’t sound right to me.

This should be interesting, considering both this and the new UK-built Civic hatchback have started hitting dealer lots pretty much simultaneously.

I got a good look at both of them yesterday, and from what I saw...the compact hatchback market has two more fierce competitors joining in.

Watch out Mazda 3, Subaru Impreza, Hyundai Elantra GT, Kia Forte5, Ford Focus, and Toyota Corolla iM.

That doesn’t seem right at all. The cargo space with the seats up on a Vibe (which is basically a wagon) is huge, 19.3 cubic feet. The Cruze seems like it couldn’t be that much.

I really understand how people get a bad taste in their mouth for Utah if they only know Provo. It’s not even church centric strangeness it’s just...strangeness. Outside of Provo people are, more or less, normal; even the church goers.

It’s not really the church-ness, it’s just the pinnacle of a domed suburbia. We always drive out to Park City to find interesting things to do/look at. Lot of good paying jobs in the Provo valley so I’m not faulting anyone.

It’s just interesting that I can tell within 30 minutes of working with a person if they are from and all about Provo...and I’ll know we won’t get along personally. Plus for some reason, road logic takes a nosedive immediately upon entering the valley. Oh the left lane is for 5 under and the exit lanes are now for passing 15 over? K

People *from* Provo are a different breed altogether, but from what I can tell it just pulls outsiders in and doesn’t let go. My brothers found work down there -- good paying jobs -- and said, “Well this will be good money and good work experience in the short term” Then they get tired of renting and buy a house. Then they have a kid. Then another. Then another. Then they get a raise. Then they need a bigger house. And then they never leave again.
